I am working on a project right now, and I really need all of your help if you will give me a couple minutes of your time. In the comment section, if you would please include the titles of books that you remember being required reading in Jr High or High School, or ones that you are currently running into as required reading in your practicum experiences...I would so very much appreciate it!
Thanks!

I remember reading The Giver in middle school and for high school here are the ones I could think of:
The Odyssey, Cat's Eye, Ceremony (Leslie Marmon Silko), The Grapes of Wrath, As I Lay Dying, The Things They Carried, Oedipus Rex, Hamlet, Macbeth, and Crime and Punishment
Hey!!! I had to read: To Kill a Mockingbird, Animal Farm, Diary of Anne Frank, Crystal Night (or Krystal Nacht), the Indian in the Cupboard, The Face on the Milk Carton, Bridge to Terabithia, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, and Hatchet. Hope these help!

That's all I can remember right now.
In my practicum, the freshmen are required to read:
-Lord of the Flies or The Hunger Games
-Romeo and Juliet
-The Odyssey
-To Kill a Mockingbird
The Juniors read:
-The Freedom Writer's Diary
-The Catcher in the Rye
-The Color Purple
-The Great Gatsby
In my own high school experience, I read many of the same books. I think we also read a Shakespeare play each year, so add Hamlet and Macbeth to that list. We also did a lot of the American canon: The Scarlet Letter, The Grapes of Wrath, The Red Badge of Courage (ick), Transcendentalist works, etc. Our sophomore year had a "world literature" theme and we read Cry, The Beloved Country, 1984, Brave New World, Chronicle of a Death Foretold. I also remember reading The Sound and the Fury...but I think that was senior year. Phew, that's all I can remember. Good luck with your project!
I don't remember what we read in Junior High - clearly, it was nothing that had a big impact on me.
High school: To Kill a Mocking Bird, Sidartha, Romeo and Juliet, Black Boy, Hamlet, Oedipus Rex, Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Sound and the Furry, The stranger, The Plague, The adventures of Huckleberry Fin, Jane Eyre, The Color Purple, Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, Measure for Measure, King Lear, Merchant of Venice, The Tempest...that's what I remember.
I remember having to read The Scarlet Letter, Animal Farm, Romeo and Juliet, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Canterbury Tales, and The Odyssey. The majority of these are from high school because I have a pretty pathetic ability to remember things.
